Tip of the Day from All About Weddings
DIY Church decor – If you are planning on doing your own church decor – two main things you need to check out before you go ahead booking any hire items for your church are the width of the aisle and the type of pew ends in your church.
The width of the aisle determines the type of decor you can use – bearing in mind you will be coming down the aisle with your dad so you are only left with whatever space is left to put lanterns etc., down the aisle – Having a look and standing in the aisle is the best way to figure out the space.
Also have a look at the type of pews in your church – pews with an “end” to them make it simpler to tie on pew ends such as buckets or lanterns etc., while flat end pew ends dont lend themselves to this.
If you have flat end pew ends you will need to take in account the amount of ribbon/organza required to enable you to secure them tightly.
If you are planning on doing your own church decor bear in mind there might be a funeral before your wedding so you might not have much time to set out your decor so you need to have as much prepared beforehand as possible.
